Dr. Purnell is an entrepreneur and professor who lives a fascinating life in the world of academia and entertainment. 

 

During the podcast, Dr. Purnell shares how he would be the last person that he thought would end up in the world of academia. He provided insight into how a struggling college student who was unprepared to balance the social and academic life of postsecondary education hit the reset button and never gave up on his commitment to obtain his college degree and be a model father. With a life rooted in faith and music, Dr. Purnell seized an opportunity to connect with a mentor in the entertainment industry. That meeting led him to work with world class entertainers and made a name for himself as an entrepreneur and producer. While rubbing shoulders with the music industry’s elite, Dr. Purnell has always remained humble and maintained his desire to serve. While continuing to work on music out of his studio in Atlanta, Dr. Purnell serves as a full-time faculty member in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas where he shows up as his authentic self and shares practical, real-world experiences with his students has proven to be a great combination.

 

Dr. Purnell holds a doctoral degree in Business Administration. Dr. Purnell enjoys conducting academic research on various topics in the areas of entrepreneurship, management and consumer behavior. He continues to work with talented artists and musicians and produce top charting hits. In addition, Dr. Purnell enjoys spending time with his family which is his priority and motivation.
